Volunteer Clearances – Required by September 30th

At Buffalo Elementary, we love our volunteers! From helping at class parties to chaperoning field trips, our PTO thrives because of YOU.

But to come into the school building during school hours to be with the students - or for anything beyond a scheduled teacher/faculty meeting, all volunteers must have their clearances on file by September 30th.
This is a district-wide policy designed to keep our kids safe.

What You Need

To volunteer at Buffalo Elementary, you’ll need to complete the following clearances (links provided below):

  • PA Criminal History Check

  • PA Child Abuse Clearance

  • FBI Fingerprinting OR Volunteer Affidavit (depending on your situation)

Deadline: September 30th

  • Clearances must be submitted by September 30th in order to volunteer for any PTO events, classroom help, or field trips this school year.

  • Without clearances, you will not be able to volunteer for activities.

How to Submit

  1. Complete each clearance online (links below).

  2. Save/print your certificates.

  3. Turn them in to the Buffalo Elementary Office (attn: PTO Volunteer Clearances).

 

Clearances are free for school volunteers and remain valid for 5 years—so once you’re in, you’re set for a while!

Volunteer Requirements:

Freeport Area School District requires all program volunteers to submit the following three (3) clearances:

  • Act 34 - PA State Police Criminal Record Check https://epatch.pa.gov/home

  • Act 151 - Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS

  • Act 114 - FBI Fingerprint Clearance https://uenroll.identogo.com - enter Service Code 1KG6XN

                 (FBI Fingerprint Clearance is only required if you have been a resident of PA for less than 10 years.

                   If you have been a resident for 10 years or more, THIS affidavit can be completed and notarized.)

 

***Clearances will need to be updated every 5 years***

 

 This will be mandatory for any volunteering efforts during school hours.  

 

All volunteers clearance forms need be on file with the school prior to signing up for volunteer opportunities and before September 30 to volunteer for the current school year.  Please send a copy of your clearances to the Buffalo Elementary office in order to aid in this process.
